As it continues store growth initiatives and launches a retail media program, BJ’s Wholesale Club announced that its newest club would open in Midlothian, VA on December 9.
The latest manifestation of the company’s growth effort will operate an on-site BJ’s Gas location and offer members everyday low fuel prices with the opportunity to earn extra savings through BJ’s Fuel Saver Program. The Midlothian opening will bring BJ’s club total to 235, with operations located in the United States East Coast and Midwest.
“The grand opening of our new club has been much anticipated, and we are very much looking forward to opening our doors to the Midlothian community on Friday,” said Contina McNeill, club manager of the new club, in announcing the debut. “Our team has been working diligently to prepare our club for both new and existing members to start shopping, and we’re officially ready to welcome them in.”
In launching its retail media program, BJ’s Media Edge using Microsoft PromoteIQ, the company stated that it is offering brands a comprehensive advertising solution to connect with BJ’s members. The company pointed out that it is committed to a future where advertising and e-commerce interact to create a superior shopping experience for its members. Early Media Edge adopters have seen a significant return on media investments, BJs asserted.
The program allows brands to reach BJ’s members through digital and social media extensions and to access real-time robust analytics and data. The company has closed-loop measurement reporting capabilities in development and will help brands understand business outcomes by matching ad exposure to purchases online and in-club.
