Just days after announcing a deal with DoorDash, BJ’s Wholesale Club has announced the chainwide rollout of Same-Day Select, a fee-based membership add-on.
BJ’s characterizes Same-Day Select service as an upgrade option for BJ’s Wholesale Club members where they pay a one-time fee upfront for either unlimited or a set number of same-day grocery drop-offs delivered in as little as two hours. According to the company, the chainwide launch follows a successful six-month test program.
Members can select from two different Same-Day Select packages, BJ’s stated: 12 free deliveries over a one-year period at $55 and unlimited free deliveries for a one-year period at $100.
Members can enroll in Same-Day Select online. Members using Same-Day Select receive in-club pricing as well as the ability to earn rewards and use BJ’s coupons. Eligible items may vary by location but focus on food and household essentials. Orders must meet a $60 minimum to qualify for Same-Day Select delivery, BJ’s noted.
“We know convenience and value are key to our members, and with BJ’s Same-Day Delivery, our members can have all the great value they expect from the club delivered right to their front door,” said Monica Schwartz, executive vp and chief digital officer, BJ’s Wholesale Club, in announcing the new service. “We are excited to expand on our service by offering our members both a package or an unlimited option for deliveries to make the convenience and savings easier than ever.”
