Belk, in a series of leadership moves, promoted Nir Patel to CEO as Lisa Harper, who Belk’s CEO since 2016, transitions to executive chair of the Belk board of directors.
Patel, previously president and chief merchandising officer, joined the company in 2016 as evp, GMM, men’s and e-commerce, after holding executive and management positions at Kohl’s, Land’s End, Abercrombie & Fitch, Target and Gap.
Belk also promoting Don Hendricks to president from COO, and it named Chris Kolbe evp and chief merchandising officer.
Hendricks started with Belk in 2016 after stints with Gymboree, Hot Topic and Torrid. Kolbe has held leadership roles with Kohl’s, Land’s End, Original Penguin and Urban Outfitters, according to Belk.
