Ashley, Samsung Partner in Immersive Approach to Selling Smart Home

As smart home product manufacturers look for new ways to interest consumers in connected household products, Samsung Electronics Americas is teaming with furniture retailer Ashley to launch “The Connected Home Experience powered by Samsung SmartThings.”

The intent of the partnership is to revolutionize the way people shop for their homes, Ashly announced. Now, shoppers visiting the Ashley flagship store in Brentwood, TN, will get a view of how furnishings and smart technology work together to elevate the lifestyle of today’s ever-connected consumer, the retailer said.

As such, rather than browsing for smart home devices displayed in little boxes on store shelves, the Ashley Brentwood shoppers can check out on-trend furnishings in a merchandising arrangement that helps consumers see how easy it is to connect their favorite devices through the SmartThings ecosystem using interactive Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. In immersive vignettes, shoppers can see how they can set up domestic spaces to better suit their lifestyles as party destinations, work-from-home suites and bedroom sanctuaries, Ashley noted. The SmartThings ecosystem includes products ranging from audio speakers to small and large appliances for cooking, cleaning and room environment management.

Brentwood store shoppers will find curated spaces and experiences that feature SmartThings-enabled functionalities, Ashley pointed out. The vignettes are anchored by Ashley’s newest product offerings, along with 200-plus connected devices from Samsung and SmartThings-compatible brands including Philips Hue lighting, Nanoleaf lighting, Eve roller shades, Kasa smart home products and Aqara curtain drivers.
