Amazon is rolling out a TikTok-style shopping experience that allows users to buy products on Amazon from a curated feed of photos and videos. Inspire will be available to select customers beginning in December.
With Inspire, in an approach to consumers reminiscent of TikTok, Amazon customers no longer need to search elsewhere or comment on a post to get more details about products featured online. Inspire provides consumers with product feeds to watch in the Amazon app. When they see an item they like, consumers can shop for it in real-time on Amazon, the company noted. With a few clicks, customers can tap on a video or photo to see product details including average star rating and reviews, color and style options, and price, then add it to their cart.
To access Inspire, customers open the Amazon Shopping app and tap a light bulb icon on the bottom navigation bar. The app prompts customers to choose from more than 20 interests to personalize their feeds. Inspire will learn more about customers’ preferences through their interests and engagement and continually tailor their feed of shoppable content.
As Inspire proceeds, Amazon plans to add more shoppable features, in-app functionality and content to build an even more immersive shopping customer experience, the company maintained.
For influencers and brands, Amazon added, Inspire can be another way to grow a successful and rewarding business.
The Inspire rollout comes amid reports that Amazon led Black Friday.
