Consumers have a variety of needs when it comes to making budgets work today, so Amazon is promoting the latest iteration of a savings hub on its website that helps shoppers connect with discounts.
Included among the programs featured on the hub is Prime Access, a discounted membership program for qualifying government assistance recipients. Eligible customers in the United States who sign up for Prime Access can get all the benefits that come with a Prime membership for $6.99 a month, more than 50% off the cost of a full-priced membership, Amazon points out.
The Prime Access subscription offers unlimited grocery delivery on orders over $35 from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market, where available, as well as other delivery and pickup options. Consumers with a registered EBT card, with or without Prime Access, can receive the same grocery subscription as Prime members but at a discounted rate of just $4.99 per month.
Amazon has expanded payment with SNAP EBT nationwide and consumers can use it to purchase food and essentials across its operations, including with Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market, the company indicated. Amazon is accepting Cash EBT, which provides for purchasing beyond essential edibles and necessities, as an option in 21 states. In those regions, Cash EBT users can purchase almost anything on Amazon.co, across categories such as home and kitchen, beauty and personal care, electronics, and toys, the company noted. As an extension of its Prime and related programs, qualified customers can save 15% to 20% on select groceries and everyday essentials with the Access Discounts program available on Amazon’s website.
