Amazon announced its 10th Prime Day event begins July 16 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time and runs through July 17.
The event will provide Amazon’s Prime paid members exclusive access to millions of deals across more than 35 product categories from kitchen and beauty to electronics and apparel, according to the company. Amazon will introduce new deals as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event. Prime members can request ahead of the event an invitation to access invite-only exclusive deals expected by Amazon to sell out.
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is debuting Prime Day by announcing the event days in her new, original song, “It’s Prime Day,” and through the related video. Prime members can purchase product picks set by the rapper and featured in the music video. Each day, from July 8-15, other celebrities and influencers getting a Prime Day spotlight — including Jess Sims, Alyssa McKay, Monet McMichael, Jared McCain, Millie Bobby Brown, Meredith Duxbury and Alix Earle — will introduce deals on their favorite products across categories including home, beauty, and sports.
Prime Day prepares as Amazon is relaunching its school and college shopping guides. The back-to-school feature includes parents, students and teachers needs for the forthcoming school year, Amazon noted. With available shopping filters, consumers can search products by price and select their desired delivery speed including same-day, available to Amazon customers in more than 110 metropolitan areas across the United States. Associated with the list initiative, Amazon curated a selection of dorm decor-based on popular social media trends.
As part of the Prime Day festivities, Prime members can receive a $200 Amazon Gift Card upon approval of a Prime Visa account from June 27-July 2; or an $80 Amazon Gift Card instantly upon approval for a Prime Store Card from July 12-17. In addition, from June 26-July 15, Prime members can get coupons for $15 off a $75-plus total purchase when shopping at Amazon Fresh physical stores. Prime customers and those with a registered EBT card who have not previously signed up can get three free months of the new Amazon grocery subscription instead of the usual one free month, providing unlimited grocery delivery for orders over $35 via Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market and a variety of local grocery and specialty retailers on Amazon.com, as well as more convenient delivery and pickup options.
Prime Day provides members in the U.S. with an opportunity to enjoy savings from small businesses on the platform, with early-access deals already available. From July 8-17, U.S. Prime members can shop additional deals directly from participating brand websites such as Heydude, Popsockets, Carbone Fine Food and The Woobles, using Buy with Prime. Prime members also can save up to 40% on select sailings with Carnival Cruise Line and, when booking through the Amazon Travel Deals page, up to 30% off, plus 10% back in an Amazon.com Gift Card on Avis rentals. In addition, Prime members can sign up for alerts that will inform them about potential deals of interest.
“Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, and features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime. “In fact, over the course of last year, Amazon customers saved nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons, with Prime members enjoying the vast majority of those savings, including over $2.5 billion during Prime Day 2023.”
