Amazon earned second place in the LinkedIn Top Companies 50 best large workplaces to grow careers in 2024.
JPMorgan Chase came out ahead of Amazon. LinkedIn cited Amazon’s new AI Ready program as a prime example of how the company is upskilling employees. No other retailer made the top 50 unless Apple, at 25, is considered as a retailer. Amazon offers free artificial intelligence skills training to employees with a desire to learn about generative AI, LinkedIn noted. The program, aimed at expanding access to AI education, also includes a $12 million commitment to GenAI scholarships.
Amazon pointed out that LinkedIn not only recognized the company as a top workplace in the U.S. across all industries, but Amazon also was selected as the number-one workplace in the tech sector, citing skills training and opportunities for growth as key differentiators.
In commenting on LinkedIn’s ranking, Ofori Agboka, Amazon’s vice president of people, experience and technology for Global Operations, said. “We’re able to put customers first by building outstanding, safe, innovative, inclusive and engaged teams. I’m thrilled that Amazon has once again ranked highly on LinkedIn’s Top Companies list. It’s an incredible honor, and it’s all thanks to the thousands of employees who are inventing on behalf of the customer every single day.”
