Amazon is expanding its technology hubs in Phoenix and Austin, Texas, the company announced.

The new positions will support Amazon’s growing teams in consumer retail, Amazon Web Services, and operations, and include positions such as software development engineers, senior solution architects, project managers and business analysts.
Amazon will create more than 2,000 corporate and technology jobs in Austin, over the next few years, it stated, to further expand the tech hub there. The new positions will support teams growing in operations technology, Amazon retail, Amazon business, and Amazon Web Services, and include positions such as senior data engineers, senior technical program managers, user experience designers and financial analysts.
For the Phoenix-area tech hub expansion, Amazon has signed a 63,000-square-foot expansion at its existing offices at 100 South Mill Avenue in Tempe. The company currently has more than 5,000 technology and corporate employees working in its Phoenix Tech Hub.
To accommodate growth in Austin, Amazon has leased 330,000 square feet of space at a new building at The Domain in Austin. The company currently has more than 3,000 technology and corporate employees working at its Austin Tech Hub.
