Walmart is expanding its relationship with Gap, announced in June, with a new home products lineup including decor and housewares, Anthony Soohoo, executive vice president, home, Walmart U.S., announced in a blog post.
Walmart is pricing the furniture component of the introductory Gap assortment from $49.88 to $629. The furniture collection included 150 items, Soohoo noted, including couches, ottomans, TV stands, headboards and rugs. Styles range from Scandinavian and Mid Century to even more modern looks developed to complement other exclusive Walmart furniture offerings, such as the Bohemian Flower Home and contemporary MoDRN collections.
SooHoo said Walmart customers have been spending more time in and money on their homes becaue of thr COVID-19 pandemic, and Walmart aims to provide them a wide variety of accessible, on-trend styles. Gap Home is an important part of that effort, he maintained, with more to come.
