Fabric care supplier Gleener Inc. announced that it has earned a Certified Biobased Product Label from the USDA for the Gleener Dryer Dots Eco-Friendly Friendly Softener.

The USDA Biobased Product Label showcases the product’s biobased content or portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine or forestry feedstocks. Biobased products play a role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions that lead to climate change.

When discussing the label, Kim Cole, CEO and founder of Gleener, said, “We are so proud to be a part of this program. Dryer Dots offer the consumer a sustainable alternative to traditional chemical-filled fabric softeners. Our ethically sourced, 100% wool dryer balls save time, money, and the environment by reducing drying time by 30% and naturally softening up to 3000 loads.”

Vernell Thompson, with of the USDA BioPreferred Program, said, “Products from Gleener Inc. are contributing to an ever-expanding marketplace that adds value to renewable agriculture commodities, creates jobs in rural communities and decreases our reliance on petroleum.”
