Veteran cleaning product and kitchenware industry leader Robert Michelson is retiring as president and chief commercial officer of Bradshaw Home.

Michelson began his career 38 years ago with cleaning tool manufacturer Easyday/Suburbanite, co-owned by his father, Alan, and later to be renamed Butler Home Products. Rob Michelson ascended to CEO of Butler, leading the growth of the business alongside his brother, Mark, before selling the company to Bradshaw International in 2003.

Rob Michelson led Bradshaw’s new cleaning division for the next 15 years, and he oversaw all commercial aspects of Bradshaw Home’s combined kitchen and cleaning divisions the past five years. He served on the International Housewares Association Board of Directors the past three years.

Michelson spearheaded licensing in traditional cleaning tools, creating partnerships with large consumer product companies, including Procter & Gamble, Stanley/Black and Decker and The Clorox Company. Those licensing agreements brought such brands as Mr. Clean, Dawn, Black and Decker and Clorox to the market in mops, brooms, small wares and household gloves.

“Working in the housewares industry and with the team at Bradshaw has been extremely rewarding,” Rob Michelson said. “It has allowed me to build personal and professional relationships that have shaped the person I am today. I am proud of the partnerships I have developed and hope that my contributions helped the industry be a dynamic force in the marketplace.”

Tony Hair, CEO of Bradshaw Home, said, “Rob has played a key role at Bradshaw, helping to drive the company’s substantial growth. We appreciate the leadership he provided the company and wish him well in his retirement. We will be taking this opportunity to streamline the organization and move decision making closer to the customer and consumer.”

Derek Miller, president and CEO of the International Housewares Association, said, “Rob’s dedication and passion for advancing the housewares industry have been truly remarkable. We are immensely grateful for his unwavering commitment and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
