Newell Brands has expanded the Rubbermaid brand into baking with the introduction of Rubbermaid DuraLite bakeware made from an exclusive, new glass formulation the company said results in lightweight, highly durable, broiler-safe baking dishes.
Rubbermaid DuraLite bakeware is made of spun tempered glass, fluosilicate, according to Newell Brands. The tempering process, the company said, provides high heat tolerance and durability, while the spun manufacturing process gives the product its modern design and extra lightweight benefit.
Newell Brands said glass Rubbermaid DuraLite bakeware is broiler- and oven-safe of up to 550⁰F, which the company said is 100 degrees higher than any other glass or ceramic bakeware available today. The lightweight bakeware in sleek, modern shapes is designed for oven-to-table use. The break- and chip-resistant bakeware is microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, the company added.
“As a leader in food storage and organization, we know our customers value long-lasting, versatile kitchenware that makes life easier. We share that passion and saw an opportunity to bring those qualities to the baking category for the first time,” said Kris Malkoski, CEO, Food Business Unit at Newell Brands.
In a nod to the Rubbermaid brand’s storage and organization heritage, DuraLite is nestable and stackable to optimize cabinet and refrigerator space. The line is available in a variety of shapes and sizes, including 9-inch-by-13-inch and 10-inch-by-10-inch dishes and ramekins. Sets are available with square or rectangle dishes and offered with and without lids.
Rubbermaid DuraLite Bakeware, with retail prices starting at $19.99, is offered now through leading retailer e-commerce sites with plans for a broad in-store rollout as the year progresses.
