Tony Kircher, president of home environment appliance company Winix America, announced he will step down from his current role at the end of 2023.
Kircher was the first president of Winix America, the Bannockburn, IL-based of South Korea’s Winix Inc. He opened the U.S. company in 2004 as a private-label supplier of air purifiers, water filtration, dehumidifiers and other home environment products. Since that time, Winix has grown to become one of the leading brands of air cleaners in North America.
“It has been a terrific twenty years with Winix,” Kircher said. “I’m so proud of what we have accomplished and how far we have taken this brand and the entire category of healthy air products. In recent years, wildfires and airborne pandemics have brought the need for healthy air to the front of consumer’s minds, and Winix has benefited from being ready with an honest, effective, and high-performance solution. I have no doubt that this momentum will continue for the company.”
Kircher, after stepping down as president, will stay on as an advisor to the CEO, Chulmin Yoon, and plans to work on several projects beyond the current business scope. Kircher is a former board member of the International Housewares Association, the Illinois District Export Council, and the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago. Prior to Winix, Kircher’s career was focused on business in Asia where he livedfor several years.
