GMM Nonstick Coatings and its parent, chemical company Resonac, announced GMM Founder and CEO Ravin Gandhi is leaving the company on December 31, 2023.
Shinzo Tsukamoto, head of the Coatings Materials Department at Resonac, will assume the role of interim CEO of GMM Nonstick Coatings as of January 1, 2024, according to the companies.
Gandhi founded GMM in 2007, growing the company into a leading supplier of nonstick coatings for housewares before selling the business to Japan’s Resonac in 2017.
Gandhi will continue his investment business, which consists of more than a dozen direct technology startups at various stages in the growth cycle. He said he also plans to start a new U.S.-based manufacturing business. Gandhi has appeared frequently on CNBC, CNN and MSNBC to discuss business and politics, and he is a contributing writer for Entrepreneur Magazine and Fortune Magazine.
“Starting, growing, and selling GMM has been the highlight of my professional life,” Gandhi said. However, five years after selling the company the time has come for me to move on to new entrepreneurial activities. I will remain forever grateful to my team, my clients, and Resonac, all of whom were instrumental in GMM’s success.”
Tsukamoto added, “Ravin has been the face of the company for so many years, but we knew this day would eventually come. To Ravin’s credit, GMM has hundreds of dedicated and amazing professionals working around the world, and the company is perfectly positioned to continue growing and delighting clients with novel technology as I take the reins in 2024.”
