Euromonitor 2025 Top Trends Reveal Influence of Living Costs, Wellness, Technology

Data analytics company Euromonitor International revealed its Top Global Consumer Trends 2025 in an annual report highlighting five key trends at the core of worldwide consumer behavior fueled by such considerations as cost of living, wellness, environment and technology.

Euromonitor said its Global Consumer Trends 2025 report illustrates how different generations are impacting business dynamics, creating new opportunities and how companies are adapting to shifting customer habits.

Euromonitor’s Top Global Consumer Trends in 2025 are: 

  1. Healthspan Plans: Living healthier for a longer time has become the main goal for consumers, according to Euromonitor, which reported 52% of consumers surveyed believe they will be healthier in the next five years than they are now.
  2. Wiser Wallets: Consumers plan to put more money into savings while making strategic and intentional purchase decisions. Only 18% of consumers said they often made impulse purchases in 2024, Euromonitor reported.
  3. Eco Logical: Sustainable options remain a conscious decision based on personal values and also based on tangible evidence and the benefits these products deliver against customer needs, Euromonitor reported. As of the second quarter of 2024, there were 5 million online SKUs with sustainability claims across 11 fast-moving consumer goods industries and 25 countries.
  4. Filtered Focus: Customers feel they are inundated with notifications and surrounded by endless choices; they want to spend less time searching for what they need, according to Euromonitor. Some 42% of consumers surveyed made purchases via livestreaming because product or service features were easier to understand through this channel.
  5. AI Ambivalent:  People are evaluating the pros and cons of new technology, and 43% of consumers surveyed considered generative AI a trustworthy source of information.

Stella Vatcheva, senior head of practice innovation at Euromonitor International, said: “Consumers are increasingly conscious when it comes to spending. They seek products and services that are reliable, providing long-term and targeted solutions Prioritizing innovation and loyalty in business strategies will be essential for addressing evolving consumer behavior and driving growth.”

The Euromonitor Top Global Consumer Trends 2025 report revealed several other key points of consideration:

  • Millennials and Gen Z are leading the way in the use of devices or apps to track their fitness and health.
  • 57% of consumers extensively researched the products and services they purchased in 2024.
  • 46% of online beauty and personal care products used a sustainability claim in 2023 – the highest share of the digital shelf among categories.
  • 34% of consumers said easy checkout through digital wallets would improve their online shopping experience.
  • 46% of professionals expect generative AI to allow their company to create more intelligent shopping suggestions in the next 12 months.
