Cutlery Maker Cangshan Launches Its First Flatware Lines

Cutlery manufacturer Cangshan has ventured into flatware with two new lines designed to expand the brand’s mission of helping consumers make memories around the table.

The decision to expand into flatware resulted from Cangshan learning of a need from its customers and recognizing the company has the resources to deliver flatware that would satisfy retail customers and consumers.

“I love flatware. My first job was as assistant production manager in a big flatware factory in 2001 — time flies! ” said Henry Liu, CEO of Cangshan. “From a business perspective, flatware is a logical choice for an assortment extension for Cangshan. Our motivation is to offer consumers excellent quality and craftsmanship at an accessible price. While our core passion is cutlery, we also believe strongly that moments spent in the kitchen and around the table with family and friends are meaningful and special. We feel privileged to be a part of elevating these everyday moments.”

Rain Series

This line of flatware (pictured above) has a high-shine mirror finish and clean lines. It includes dinner knives, forks, spoons, salad forks and teaspoons, along with a variety of flatware for hosting multi-course meals, including a soup ladle, pie server and several serving forks, knives and spoons. Made with 18/10 stainless steel, Rain is dishwasher-safe for quick cleanup.

The flatware comes in a set of 120 with all the essentials, as well as a set of 20 and a set of 47 to complement existing flatware. Many pieces are also available as open stock.

Rain II Series

Slimmer and sleeker than Rain, Rain II also has a high-shine mirror finish and is forged from dishwasher-safe 18/10 stainless steel. Rain II comes in a complete 103-piece set including dinner forks, salad forks, dinner spoons, dinner knives, coffee spoons, teaspoons, bouillon spoons and steak knives. The series set also includes several serving pieces: a 10-inch meat fork, sugar spoon, gravy ladle, pie server, serving spoons and a 7-inch butter knife.

Along with the 103-piece set, Rain II is also available in a 20-piece set, 47-piece set and select open stock options.

For both lines, retail pricing ranges from $2.49 (stamped) to $5.99 (forged) and the sets are from $49.95 (20-piece set stamped) to $219.95 (47-piece set forged).

While Cangshan currently has no additional brand extensions at the moment, the company is dedicated to collaborating with its customers and observing the marketplace to measure needs and trends. “Who knows what the future holds?” said Liu. “The bottom line is that anything we want to bring to the market must be beautiful and functional. Our customers have responded very positively to the cutlery launch. We’re excited and motivated by them to further develop our offerings to best suit their needs. We could definitely see additional series and pieces in the future.”
