Philips is rolling out the Norelco Shaver Series 9000, featuring artificial intelligence for shaves personalized to preferences and facial features.
The Norelco Shaver Series 9000 links to the Philips GroomTribe app, which can provide real-time feedback to users about shaving patterns, including pressure, speed and motion. The app also offers shaving plans and tips.
The Pressure Guard sensor links to an intelligent light ring that lights up in different colors to let the user know when the right amount of pressure is applied. Motion control sensors track and guide shaving motions for efficient shaving techniques, while another sensor reads hair density 500 times per second to auto-adapt cutting power.
In addition to smart features, the Shaver Series 9000 has Dual SteelPrecision self-sharpening blades designed to require fewer strokes for less skin irritation; 360-degree fully flexible heads follow facial contours with Protective SkinGlide coating made to reduce friction; and hair-guide precision heads shaped to get as close to the skin as possible. The Shaver Series 9000 is available with the new Quick Clean Pod cleaning station, which cleans the shaver in one minute and is said to be 10 times more effective than cleaning with water.
“Philips Norelco pioneered artificial intelligence in electric shavers with the debut of Philips Norelco Shaver Series 7000 in January 2021,” said Brett Bardsley, Philips Norelco marketing director. “SenseIQ technology is the outcome of years of research and development and delivers superior results, helping users feel confident in their shave no matter their hair length, hair type or skin type.”
The Philips Norelco Shaver Series 9000 is available now, with retail prices starting at $219.99.
