Jura has added a new campus at its global headquarters in Niederbuchsiten, Switzerland which triples the brand’s laboratory capacity to support what the company said is a focus of continuous improvement, quality and technology.

The campus was inaugurated on June 21, 2022 during the Jura Global Sales conference with more than 400 guests from around the world. The 16,000-square-foot campus cost more $30 million dollars, and it will employ an R&D team of 50 to develop new machines and continuously monitor and improve their quality, Jura reported.

The campus simulates real operating conditions throughout a product’s lifecycle, testing new automatic coffee machines along with enhancements to existing models. Jura engineers can examine how individual parts perform after years of use at 120 automated test stations. The testing includes simulations of different climate conditions, voltages, types of beans and water qualities. The stations have automated supplies of water and coffee beans for uninterrupted testing. The digitation and automation allow the development teams to dedicate themselves to core activities.

“For anyone who’s ever wondered why Jura consistently redefines the high-end of home coffee equipment, the new Jura Campus is a revelation. The brand’s commitment to being the best manifests itself in an impressive investment in equipment, personnel and systems,” said David Shull, executive vice president, marketing & communications, of Jura Inc.
