In this age of customization and personalization, the goal isn’t providing the perfect brew but the perfect brew for you.
And where once the most preferred brew might have been hot coffee, now it could be cold brew coffee. And it could be tea or a number of other popular drinks designed to satisfy what was a traditional coffee occasion.
As consumer preferences become more diverse, coffee and tea appliance manufacturers have become more innovative to keep them happy and satisfy their lifestyle needs. Elements that are likely going into the formula include an attractive design that ensures the product will have a prominent and accessible place in the home; the ability to adjust the beverage to preference for multiple users; easy use so that whatever beverage is made doesn’t become more trouble than pleasure. In that way, machine makers can establish a long, perhaps even lifelong relationship with their consumers.
Coffee and related machines have been heading in that direction for a long time, but, as they have done so, they’ve raised expectations. New and featured products at The Inspired Home Show demonstrate how their design can win them a particular place with beverage lovers.
So, from Jura comes the E6 Piano White. The new E6 uses the company’s Pulse Extraction Process, Aroma G3 grinder and other processing elements in a machine that produces eight intensity levels for a customized brew, all backed up by a front-filling water tank, with Intelligent Water System and Clearyl Smart filter to ensure pure, fresh taste. The Jura EC Select Pump Espresso & Cappuccino Machine features an easy-to-use swivel frother for cappuccinos and lattes while producing optimal pressure for rich crema foam to satisfy aficionados all the better. Then new Jura Z10 prepares the full spectrum of hot drinks at home with the touch of a button, from intense espresso to trendy flat white, using the company’s speedy and automatically adjusting Product Recognizing Grinder, the company indicated, but it also pours cold brew specialties at the touch of a button thanks to Jura’s pioneering Cold Extraction Process.
“Jura is happy to showcase its newest innovations for enjoying the ultimate coffee experience at home,” said David Shull, Jura executive vice president, marketing and communications. “Our new products are driven by consumer demand, such as the new Z10, a world-first for both hot and cold brew specialties.”
Making things easy counts, as in the case of the SmartSwitch Series Coffee Makers from Gourmia. The company describes the series as the industry’s first dual, fully automatic pod/drip coffee makers with an adapter-free design. Gourmia designed the coffee makers for households or individuals who enjoy the ease of making either pod or drip versions of their favorite beverage. The units’ hood features an innovative adapter-free design that automatically lifts or lowers for easy, no-hassle pod or filter insertion, eliminating the need for adapters or attachments, Gourmia noted.
Speeding things up can be part, sometimes a big part, of making them easier, so the Tribest Shine Kitchen Co. Cold Brew Coffee Machine slated to roll offers today’s busy consumer speed and choice, brewing in as little as four minutes using four designated settings Light, Medium, Strong and Extra. Automatic Spinning Technology rotates coffee through the water and, so, delivers a full-flavored extraction without bitterness, Tribest said.
Flexibility and fun count, too, in beverage makers and accessories. The Capresso froth TS automatic milk frother from Jura Inc. is a compact countertop appliance that makes it convenient and easy to whip up frothy hot cocoa using chocolate chips, chunks, syrup or powder while still preparing café quality frothed milk for cappuccinos and lattes and more. Three settings – cold froth, hot froth and hot chocolate – provide the diversity in application, and it can froth up to 8-ounces or heat up to 12-ounces of milk.
Capresso stated that its exclusive hot chocolate function can prepare hot chocolate using chocolate chips or chunks dropped into the pitcher and melted in the milk as the beverage is prepared.
In another beverage direction, Bru makes the tea-making process simple and seamless, acknowledging each person’s individual preferences as to what’s just right, whichever type of tea is chosen, Bru asserted. Engineered in Switzerland, the Bru Maker One uses the latest state-of-the-art technology that makes the controls easy to understand and also operates via an app that syncs to any individual Bru machine.
Bogdan Krinitchko, Bru founder and CEO said that Bru “is an open system. You can use any tea, you can use fresh herbs, you can just drop them into the machine and push-buttons. We wanted to bring convenience into the tea-making process and have the right temperature settings so you can customize.
Bru makers are easy to maintain with a built-in auto cleaning function. “We want to bring convenience to making tea so you don’t have to deal with cleaning,” Krinitchko said.
