To support the company’s continued growth, Ace Hardware is moving to a new home office campus, exiting one location in Oak Brook, IL, and moving across town to The Reserve, an 80-acre campus that offers more flexibility, amenities and space.
For the first time, Ace announced, the company’s more than 1,100 Oak Brook-based employees will work out of a single building, creating an even closer sense of community and collaboration. Employees will enjoy modern amenities, including an on-site cafeteria, state-of-the-art fitness center, an open floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows around the entire building, the latest technology and an indoor, heated parking garage, Ace stated. The building also features outdoor terraces, patios and gathering spaces, as well as access to more than 2.5 miles of walking paths and two ponds.
“We feel blessed to have found a space that not only offers us a runway for more growth, but also provides a spectacular environment to reinforce our culture and inspire our people,” said John Venhuizen, Ace Hardware president and CEO, in announcing the move. “Our motivation has never been to be the biggest, but to be the best. This beautiful new property further enables the great Ace team to do just that.”
Ace noted that it scheduled renovations to the new space, which will take into consideration employees suggestions for workplace enhancements, for a late-2022 start with occupancy slated for summer 2023.
